We’re making community college free for anyone willing to work for it.

Work means getting good grades and being serious about getting a degree or certificate. Credits will transfer to a 4-year university or go towards completing vocational certificates and degrees. Local, state, and federal governments work together to pay for this.

Why are we doing this?
Two years of free community college education will lead to a better, smarter America.

100 years ago we made high school available for everyone.
This is an update.

We’re 12th in the world for people with college educations.
We used to be #1.

  • In the next 10 years, more than
6 out of 10 jobs will require more than a high school diploma.

  • Currently, only 40% of US adults ages 25-64 have more than a high school diploma.

  • More than a third of community college students are the first in their family to go to college.

  • The average borrower now graduates with $28,400 in debt.

  • A community college student could save an average of $3,800 in tuition and fees per year.

  • Over 9 million students a year would benefit.

  • Low-income families and first generation students lag behind in college enrollment by over 30%.

  • The average community college student is 28, so this not only helps high school grads, but single parents and veterans too.

  • 40% of college students are enrolled at one of over 1,100 community colleges.

  • More than half of community college students are part-time, juggling school with work and life at home.

  • Student debt in this country is now over $1 trillion.

Higher education will help us become better future leaders and therefore help America be much better than it is today. And we all want that.
